I am a Certified Infant Massage Instructor® (CIMI®). I trained with the International Association of Infant Massage® (IAIM®), and was certified by them in 1999. I teach parents how to massage their infants, from not-yet-born (learn on a doll or stuffed animal) to pre-crawling (about 9 months). |
Mission Statement My purpose in my role as CIMI® is to share my knowledge of infant massage with all willing parents, to encourage nurturing touching between parents and children, and to support parents in the healthy development of their relationships with their children. |
Infant massage has many benefits! These include:
Healthy touch also \ communicates your emotions to your baby \ enhances bonding \ supports baby's self-esteem \ conveys comfort & security \ teaches love, respect & caring
"Infant massage helps enhance the bond begun at birth. A baby learns to enjoy the wonderful comfort and security of loving and being loved. He acquires knowledge about his own body as his parent shows him how to relax a tense arm or leg or helps him to release painful gas. His parent looks into his eyes, sings, talks soothingly, and gently strokes his skin. Thus, each day, the dance of bonding begins all over again." - Vimala McClure, founder of IAIM® |

“Learning infant massage was an easy and inspiring process. It was a wonderful way to communicate lovingly with my new little girl. It was also helpful several times in helping her relieve her upset tummy/gas. I recommend learning and DOING infant massage.” Nina & Kevyn, now 8 years |

“I love knowing that if my baby is gassy or inexplicably upset, there’s something non-invasive with no negative side effects that I can try to help him with. Even when it’s hard to tell if it has worked on the problem, it’s a great way to relate; I like watching his face when I do “I LOVE YOU” on his tummy – he gets wide-eyed and giggly.” Lamar & Wyatt, now 2 years |
“(Massaging my son) was a wonderfully bonding experience, and he seemed to totally focus on me when we were doing it.” Stella & Benjamin, now 2½ years |
“Fearing that my baby was going to come early I prepared for a premature baby by practicing the massage skills I had been taught. So, when Britain came late, I was ready! The thing I appreciate most about infant massage is the closeness I feel to my baby. It is a time to relax and simply be physically close. A loving touch goes a long way. Now that he is a toddler he only lets me massage him after bath when he is relaxed, but we still love it. Well worth the time and effort!” Stephanie & Britain, now 3 years |

“We will always be grateful for the infant massage our daughter received. It provided relaxation and peace for her. It also helped us, the parents, who observed the change in her, to adopt similar practices in our own lives, including prayer and meditation . Together with breastfeeding she has an acceptance level for life's issues and an ability to look inside for the answers. Infant massage was a wonderful tool for our daughter.” Brian, Emily and Aven-Leigh, now 8 years |
